Schematic Building with Schematic Lab Workshop
 
Cylinder Selection Calculations for Force, Pressure, and Area: In this section we examine the various calculations needed to determine Force and Speed of a cylinder.
 
Cylinders and Seals: In this section we discuss the pitfalls of not repairing a cylinder, motor, or pump properly.

Seals: Their uses and Why they Fail: O-Rings, Poly’s, Wipers, and Wear Bands; comparison of common seal types.
 
Troubleshooting Tips and Matrix: Step by step tips for troubleshooting most systems and how to use a designed matrix for troubleshooting assistance in the field.
 
Review of ISO Symbols Review of the ISO symbols used in schematics.
 
Building Systems Using a Schematic and a Virtual Systems Trainer; This section is designed to assist in developing your skills with ISO symbols and how to inter-relate to actual components. We use the Lab-Volt Virtual Trainer to build systems using provided schematics. This section provides a way to test their understanding of how systems are built and their understanding of schematics. Building systems using a schematic without dealing with the oil because we use provided laptops. Finally we will be using the I-Design program which they will be taking with them to build a schematic of an existing system. The only portion they have for information is nomenclature of the parts and how they are plumbed to the system. They will provide a schematic drawing of the system before them.
