(CNA) Nursing Assistant Training

Begin your health care career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. This course prepares you to enter the workforce as a health care professional and for the state exams required to be placed on the Idaho Nurse Aide registry. The 120-hour class includes online assignments, in-class skills practice and clinical experience at local health care facilities. Class registration covers required textbooks, and state testing fees. Class registration covers all class materials, technology, and state testing fees. Students will have access to free TB testing and influenza vaccinations. Additional class costs are scrubs.

The following documentation is required for those interested in the option of experiencing clinicals in the acute care setting:
  • Immunization records that include:
  • A Tuberculosis test within the last 6 months,
  • 2 MMR vaccinations or titer
  • Tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis vaccination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination
  • (Chicken Pox) Varicella vaccination, titer, or history of disease
  • A state or national criminal background check (provided in class)
  • Flu vaccination if the educational experience occurs during the flu season. Students can successfully complete the course at an alternate clinical site that only requires a current TB test and Flu vaccine.

Please read:  100% attendance is required. Required by the end of the first week of class: • Immunizations: The minimum requirement is a TB test within the past 12 months and a current Influenza vaccination if your educational experience is from October 1st thru April 1st. • Requirements for CNA scrubs: CNA in Post Falls- Teal top/bottom scrubs- white closed toed shoes. Many employers perform pre-employment screenings such as criminal history, drug screen, driving record and credit checks. A preliminary criminal history check is conducted by the school and some offenses may disqualify you from class enrollment. It is the responsibility of the student to verify that they are employable in their preferred occupation.
