Enjoy a casually-paced hike into a local wildlife refuge to observe and identify flora and fauna! We will take one or two short hikes into prime areas, and focus on plants, wildflowers, tree identification, grasses and shrubs. We'll learn wildlife researcher’s methods of spotting deer, elk, and moose, as well as venturing into optimum habitats to search for tracks, sign, and presence of otter, mink, muskrat, and beaver. In the wetland environs, we may find reptiles and amphibians, birds of prey, waterfowl, woodpeckers, and songbirds. Put on your explorer caps and outfits, grab your binoculars and join your guide Brian Baxter, who has over 40 years woods experience and teaches many outdoor programs. Bring lunch, water, snacks, and smiles!
